In our valley, most of the slopes are covered with waist-high grass while the peaks are topped with thick jungle. The jungle also grows down the course of numerous rivers and streams creating the illusion that it is trickling down the mountainside pooling at the bottom.

Today I followed Lipson up one of these river grooves sweating and slipping the whole way. Between Lipson, me and the handful of kids following us, only I was impressed that I didn’t take a spill on the steep muddy trail. My efforts were rewarded by the beautiful scenery and the new Menyan words I learned. I expect only one of those rewards will be enjoyable for you…
