***Warning: There is a picture of a dead pig at the bottom of this post***

Our village was buzzing this week when a dog killed two (or three according to some) chickens and a pig in one morning. Rumors of demon possession abound.

Allegedly, all the carcasses were discovered without any blood. Also, the dog didn’t eat all of any of the animals it killed. Neither of these things has ever happened. Additionally, the pig’s neck looked more like a knife slice than a dog bite and the dog had torn open the pig’s hock–two more first time ever events. As you may have learned from previous stories, whenever something happens that has never happened, the cause is demons or sorcery. While most people assume an evil spirit was involved, some are suggesting Dracula is the culprit. Menyan evil spirits have never done anything like this, I’ve been told, but it seems similar to what Dracula would do. Edwin explained “You know, Dracula, like you guys have in America.”

In case you missed it, the same dead pig is what everyone is looking at in the picture at the top of the post.

Wow, it amazes me they have heard of Dracula! That story has travelled along way from Central Europe! 🙂

But this sure is a sad and sobering reminder of the importance and urgency of your ministry there. Taking some extra time today to pray that God will speed the day when light can shine into this darkness.

I bet the dog is a vampire.

Whatever the dog was, it’s dead now. More to come.
