About Us

Joseph and Elizabeth married in 2003 after each graduating from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. In the fall of that year, they began their journey to become church planters in Papua New Guinea. Their first step was to make Greenville home and, more specifically, to make Grace Church home. After two and half years of connecting with the church and serving in the student ministry, the Osborns moved to Roach, Missouri to train with New Tribes Mission.
The Osborns spent five semesters acquiring the necessary skills to eventually move to a “bush location,” learn a tribal language and plant a church. (You can read more details about their training here.) Along the way they added two daughters transitioning from a couple to a full fledged family.
Although they have been well trained, there is nothing about the Osborns that makes them uniquely qualified to be missionaries in one of Papua New Guinea’s many tribes. Rather, it is because of God’s work in their lives and his direction that the Osborn’s have chosen to leave home and undertake the task before them. Any glory and credit are his alone and it his provision which sustains them.
