We are spending this week in Menya with the older two Chappell boys–the rest of their family was whisked to Australia on a Med-Evac to deal with Penny’s kidney stone.
Our house had started to sag so Travis brought in a jack, a welder and his skills to help reinforce it. Thanks to him and to Mitchell Poe for the lights that allowed us to finish the job after dark.
I snuck around our house with my slingshot to scare the dog that’s been stealing our eggs and hens. After shooting and scaring the dog away, I saw our neighbor, Hoku, sneaking up the other side with his bow and arrow. If I had been a few seconds slower our problem would have been solved.
I walked this trail for the first time yesterday: spiky pineapple plants on the left, precipitous drop on the right.
